Thermostatic mixing valves are widely used in domestic hot water systems.
The valves maintain the mixed water temperature at a set level, unaffected by changes in cold and hot water temperatures or water volume.
Thermostatic valve working principle
There is a thermostatic element at the outlet of the thermostatic mixing valve. It has the characteristic of thermal expansion and contraction. It compares the outlet water temperature with the valve's set temperature and automatically adjusts the ratio of cold water to hot water to keep the outlet water temperature constant at the set temperature.
